In analyzing Islam, it became apparent that as we were writing articles, we needed to place all of the quotations we used for the articles in one place. It is repetitive to keep sprinkling the quotes through the various articles when we use several of the quotations numerous times.

Hence, this reference article you are reading now.

The article is something that we use to look up our favorite Islamic quotes. Just hit the keys CRTL F and search by topic area. We have each quote introduced by a very standard English description. We also have multiple terms used in the heading so that the quote can be found using different terms that mean roughly the same thing. We place the source at the end of the quote, but not the references where the sources from where it was found.

ISIS’s Views on Slavery

“We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women,” Adnani, the spokesman, promised in one of his periodic valentines to the West. “If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market.” – ISIS

Justification for Enslaving the Yazidi

In its digital magazine Dabiq, ISIL explicitly claimed religious justification for enslaving Yazidi women. According to The Wall Street Journal, ISIL appeals to apocalyptic beliefs and claims “justification by a Hadith that they interpret as portraying the revival of slavery as a precursor to the end of the world”. ISIL appeals to the hadith and Quran when claiming the right to enslave and rape captive non-Muslim women. According to Dabiq, “enslaving the families of the kuffar and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Sharia’s that if one were to deny or mock, he would be denying or mocking the verses of the Quran and the narration of the Prophet … and thereby apostatizing from Islam.” – ISIS

What is the Penalty for Freeing a  Slave

Allah the exalted said [in the Koran]: “And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass [hell]? It is the freeing of a slave.” And [the prophet Muhammad] said: “Whoever frees a believer Allah frees every organ of his body from hellfire.”

Mass Abduction of the Yazidi

The Yazidi women in Sinjar didn’t realise it yet, but the Isis fighters were carrying out a pre-planned mass abduction for the purpose of institutionalised rape. Initially they were looking for unmarried women and girls over eight.

At first, the women and girls were taken to prearranged locations in Iraq where they were handed out to the Isis fighters who took part in the attack on Sinjar. To avoid being raped, some of the girls killed themselves by slitting their wrists or throats, or hanging themselves, or throwing themselves from buildings. – The Guardian

Sex With Slaves

Classical Islamic law allowed men to have sexual intercourse with their female slaves. Legal and literary documents show that those slaves used for sexual service were differentiated at slave markets from those who were intended mainly for domestic services. These slave girls were called “slaves for pleasure” (muṭʿa, ladhdha) or “slave-girls for sexual intercourse” (jawārī al-waṭ).

Slave women did not veil and like prostitutes were exempt from a lot of the gender restrictions upon upper-class women. While free women were regulated by higher standards of modesty, most Islamic jurists stated that female slaves were not required to cover their arms, hair or legs below the knees. Some did not require them to cover their chest either. – Wikipedia

Slavery as a Humiliation for the Infidel

Enslavement was intended both as a debt and form of humiliation. The sexual relationship between a concubine and her master was viewed as a debt of humiliation upon the woman until she gave birth to her master’s child and the master’s later death. Becoming a slave meant that the person was stripped of their honour. The ulama asserted that slavery was a divine punishment for not being a Muslim. In the words of az-Aziz b.Ahmad al-Bukhari “servitude is a vestige of obstinacy in refusing to believe in one God”. Al-Sharif al-Jurjani stated that slavery in Islamic law was a “penalty for unbelief.” An Algerian scholar who lived in Morocco, Ahmad al-Wansharisi, described the purpose of slavery as a “humiliation” for previous or continuing disbelief. – Wikipedia

Umm walad (mother of child) is a title given to a woman who gave birth to her master’s child.[1] If a female slave gave birth to her master’s child she still remained a slave. However, the master would no longer be allowed to sell her. She would also become free once he died.

The Banu Thaqif and Banu Hawazin tribes decided to go to war against Muhammad under the leadership of Malik ibn Awf. Malik had the unfortunate idea of bringing the women, children and livestock with his army. He believed that by bringing their women and children with the army, all his soldiers would fight more courageously to defend them. When Muhammad was informed that the Hawazin had brought their women, children and livestock with them, he smiled and said “Inshaa Allah, all these will become the booty of war for the Muslims.”

Muhammed Approves of Sex With Married Captured POWs

The Muslim army defeated the Hawazin and captured their women and children. The pagan soldiers fled. The war booty which the Muslims obtained was 24,000 camels, more than 40,000 goats, 160,000 dirhams worth of silver and 6,000 women and children. Muhammad waited ten days for the Hawazin to repent and reclaim their families and properties. However, none of them came. Finally, Muhammad distributed the war booty among the Muslim soldiers. The Muslim soldiers initially hesitated to have sex with the married female captives, until a verse was revealed giving them permission to have sex with them:

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri said, “We captured some women from the area of Awtas who were already married, and we disliked having sexual relations with them because they already had husbands. So, we asked the Prophet about this matter, and this Ayah (verse) was revealed, Also (forbidden are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess). The Unveiled Women As the Sex Slaves

Because bearing her master’s child could lead to freedom for a slave-girl, some female slaves had a motive to have sex with their owners. (emphasis added) This angered the master’s wives who would often punish such slaves.

The female slaves were traded as chattel. Because female slaves were traded among men and many of them had been owned by up to thirty men consecutively, they had a great deal of knowledge about sexual intercourse and were able to tutor elite adolescent males about sexual techniques.

Slave women did not veil and like prostitutes were exempt from a lot of the gender restrictions upon upper-class women. If they were unattractive the captors would keep them as servants and if they were beautiful the captors were allowed to keep them as their concubines. The captors were also allowed to sell her. Due to this some female captives committed suicide.

The most highly desired slave-concubines in the Muslim world were not African women, but white girls, typically of Circassian or Georgian origin. However, they were very expensive. – Wikipedia

Over 6,000 Concubines or Sex Slaves

One Umayyad ruler, Abd al-Rahman III, was known to have possessed more than 6000 concubines.

The Ottoman rulers would keep hundreds, even thousands, of concubines. Female war captives were often turned into concubines for the Ottoman rulers. Ambitious slave families associated with the palace would also frequently offer their daughters up as concubines.

Slave traders would abduct and sell Circassian girls. The Circassian and Georgian women were systematically trafficked to eastern harems. This practice lasted into the 1890s. Fynes Moryson noted that some Muslim men would keep their wives in various cities while others would keep them in a single house and would keep adding as many women as their lusts permitted.

Since the late 1300s Ottoman sultans would only permit heirs born from concubines to inherit their throne. Each concubine was only permitted to have one son. Once a concubine would bear a son she would spend the rest of her life plotting in favour of her son. If her son was to successfully become the next Sultan, she would become an unquestionable ruler. After the 1450s the Sultans stopped marrying altogether. Because of this there was great surprise when Sultan Sulayman fell in love with his concubine and married her. – Wikipedia

Imagine this harem. It would have been as city as one would need several support personnel to support these 6,000 sex slaves. This is a sex slave factory. And entirely approved by Islam.

How Islam Presents Sex Slavery as a Primary Virtue of Slavery

In 2016, a British imam who claims to be anti-extremist, affirmed the legitimacy of sex slavery to his followers. The next year, a Kuwaiti Sheikh called enslaving unbelievers “one of the virtues of Islam.”

There have also been several modern-day fatwas endorsing the sexual abuse of non-Muslim women following capture.

How Islam Promotes Raping Slaves to Humiliate Them

In 2016, a scholar at Egypt’s al-Azhar, the most prestigious Islamic school in the Sunni world, stated that non-Muslim women could be captured in a time of war become “property” and can be raped “in order to humiliate them.“

The History of Sex Slaves Taken as Mohammed’s Conquest

An account of women taken as slaves in battle by Muhammad’s men after their husbands and fathers were killed. The woman was raped with Muhammad’s approval. – Sahih Bukhari 62:137 (The Religion of Peace)

Another account of females taken captive and raped with Muhammad’s approval. In this case it is evident that the Muslims intend on selling the women after raping them because they are concerned about devaluing their price by impregnating them. Muhammad is asked about coitus interruptus. – Sahih Bukhari 34:432 (The Religion of Peace)

Muhammad and his men take captive “some excellent Arab women” from the Banu Mustaliq.  Their dilemma then becomes that they want to rape the women, but they also want to ‘ransom’ them, knowing that their captives will be of less value if pregnant. When they ask Muhammad about coitus interruptus, their prophet tells them that it doesn’t matter how they rape the women because “every soul will be born” anyway. – Sahih Muslim 3371 

On Reversing Emancipation of Slaves on the Death of Their Master

A man freed six slaves on the event of his death, but Muhammad reversed the emancipation and kept four in slavery to himself. He cast lots to determine which two to free. Sahih Muslim 4112– (The Religion of Peace)

Beating Slaves as Accepted

A slave girl is given a “violent beating” by Ali in the presence of Muhammad, who does nothing about it. – Ibn Ishaq 734

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are obedient, guarding the secret that Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them (beat them). Ayesha, Mohammed’s child-wife, refers to Muslims when she says she believes in women. And this is about the pagan women. The context is a Muslim woman beaten so badly that her skin was green.

Women are 1/2 of Men Because Women Are Deficient In Intelligence

What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?” He said, “Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?” They replied in the affirmative. He said, “This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn’t it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?” The women replied in the affirmative. He said, “This is the deficiency in her religion.” – Hadith 304

Once Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) of `Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, “O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women).” They asked, “Why is it so, O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) ?” He replied, “You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you.” The women asked, “O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?” He said, “Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?” They replied in the affirmative. He said, “This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn’t it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?” The women replied in the affirmative. On `Id ul Fitr or `Id ul Adha Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) went out to the Musalla. After finishing the prayer, he delivered the sermon and ordered the people to give alms. He said, “O people! Islamic jurists describe marriage as a kind of sale where the wife’s private parts are purchased. However, there are some differences between the rights of a wife and female slave. “The smallest reward for the people of Heaven is an abode where there are eighty thousand servants (emphasis added) and seventy-two houri, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby, as wide as the distance from al-Jabiyyah to San’a. – Wikipedia

There are six things with Allah for the martyr. He is forgiven with the first flow of blood (he suffers), he is shown his place in Paradise, he is protected from punishment in the grave, secured from the greatest terror, the crown of dignity is placed upon his head—and its gems are better than the world and what is in it—he is married to seventy-two wives among the wide-eyed houris (Ar. اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ زَوْجَةً مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ) of Paradise, and he may intercede for seventy of his close relatives.

In the Quran, there is no overt mention of sexual intercourse in Paradise. However, its existence has been reported in hadiths, tafsirs and Islamic commentaries saying that Houris will have sexual intercourse with faithful men in Paradise.

ISIS and 72 Virgins

Like other violent “jihadi” groups, IS entices men to join its ranks by promising them they will be granted 72 eternally young and beautiful virgins when they die in battle and go to heaven.

This is a powerful piece of recruitment propaganda for male militants.

But it is hardly attractive for IS brides, who are told that after death they will be reunited with their dead husbands in paradise — after he has settled down with his hours. – Radio Free Europe

Quote Category #11: About The Taqiyya and Lying to the Infidel

“Whoever expresses disbelief in God after having accepted belief [will suffer greatly] – except him who is forced while his heart is still at peace in belief” Quran – 16:106

The Modern Treatment of the Yazidis is An Example of the Historical Islamic Treatment of Non-Muslims

The persecution of Yazidis has been labelled a genocide.

This religious sect has been subjected to massacres, forced conversion, forced exile, rape, torture, slavery, sexual slavery, and forced conscription.

There have been numerous massacres in attacks on Yazidi villages. In many of the massacres, militants separate the men from the women.

Afterward, the men are lined up at checkpoints along the side of the road, shot, and bulldozed into mass graves. Sometimes, men are also given the option of converting to Islam or being executed, so there have been many instances of both forced conversions and killings for refusal to convert to ISIL’s version of Islam.

Yazidi women and children captives are often raped by multiple men, typically friends of their captors. They believe that if a woman is raped by ten ISIL fighters, she will become Muslim. – Wikipedia

Quote Category #15: Punishment for Those Who Wage Wars Against Allah or Make Mischief in the Land

(Mohammed) The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and his apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned – Quran 5:33

Mischief means anything that contradicts Islam. Another term they use is “corruption,” so they will say “corruption in the land.” There is no concept in Islam of people having any right to choose either another religion or no religion. Muslims state that everyone is Muslim; it’s just that they don’t know it.

Quote Category #16: On Marrying Very Young Girls

(Mohammed) He said, “Did you marry a virgin or a matron? I replied “A matron.” He said, “Why didn’t you marry a young girl so that you may play with her and she with you?” – Sahih Bukhari 7:62:16

The context of this story is Mohammed telling his friends to marry a very young girl, as Mohammed did with Ayesha when she was six years old.

Islam has a long history of supporting child marriage, and nothing is considered odd about men in their 50s or 60s marrying girls under 10 years of age.
One of the arguments given by the Pentagon leaders for continuing the war in Afghanistan was to support women’s rights. However, what they never discussed in public was that Islam was a threat to these rights.

Quote Category #17: Islam on Women Covering Themselves

“And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known.” The woman is not only supposed to cover herself, except with relatives, but to look down, so as to avoid making eye-contact with men. – Quran 24:31 

“It shall be no crime in them as to their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their woman, or the slaves which their right hands possess, if they speak to them unveiled” A woman may present herself without a veil only to family and slaves. – Quran 33:55

How Muslims Lie About the Compulsion to Wear Coverings

In 2017, al-Azhar university in Egypt decreed that the veil was compulsory for Muslim women… and not even open for debate: “It is not acceptable that anyone from the public or non-specialized people, regardless of their culture, to voice their opinions on the matter.” Can anyone seriously claim that the leading Sunni institution in the world doesn’t understand Islam?

Many women do wear the hijab by choice, but it is impossible to say what percentage, since the pressure to cover one’s head can be subtle or pronounced. Clerics, such as Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali, have said that unveiled victims of public rape invited their attackers: “If I came across a rape crime – kidnap and violation of honour – I would discipline the man and order that the woman be arrested and jailed for life.’ Why would you do this, Rafihi?

He says because if she had not left the meat uncovered, the cat wouldn’t have snatched it… If you take uncovered meat and put it on the street, on the pavement, in a garden, in a park or in the backyard, without a cover and the cats eat it, is it the fault of the cat or the uncovered meat?

By contrast, Islamic terrorists staged nearly ten thousand deadly attacks in just the six years following September 11th, 2001.  If one goes back to 1971, when Muslim armies in Bangladesh began the mass slaughter of Hindus, through the years of Jihad in the Sudan, Kashmir and Algeria, and the present-day Sunni-Shia violence in Iraq, the number of innocents killed in the name of Islam probablyexceeds five million over this same period.

By contrast, Islamic terror is organized and methodical. Islamist groups span the globe with tens of thousands of dedicated members, despite intensely targeted counter-measures. Supporters number in the tens of millions. They are open about their religious goals and they kill in the name of Allah each and every day of the year. Interpretation (ijtihad) of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, insofar as it was needed, was accomplished by these four imams by the early ninth century. By twelfth century, it was thought that there was no need for further interpretation or elaboration, just application; the door to ijihad closed. After the fixation of the law, taqlid (the opposite of ijtihad), or imitate of the recognized rulings, became the norm. This is why, according to British scholar W. Montgomery Watt, “the central discipline is Islamic education was not theology but jurisprudence.” The right path has been set. Within it, all human actions were categorized as: obligation, “duty”(fard); “recommended” (mandub); legitimate or indifferent, “permitted” (mubah); discouraged, “reprehensible” (makruh); and “forbidden” (haram). There was nothing one could do for which guidance was not available and necessary. One needed only to follow the prescriptions as instructed by the ulema (Islamic jurisprudence scholars). There was no need to look beyond sacred scripture.

This was obviously not an orientation conducive to philosophy, ethics or natural theology. In fact, the subject of philosphy was removed from the cirruculum of the famous al-Azhar university in Cairo and was not reinstated until late in the nineteenth century at the insistence of the Egyptian reformer Muhammed ‘Abduh. – The Closing of the Muslim Mind

Sharia does not contain the concept of citizenship, for which there was not word in Arabic. In its terms, the inequality between believers and unbelievers appears to be unbridgeable. This is evident from the rigid discrimination against non-Muslims in Saudi Arabia, a Sharia state, and in the vulgarly expressed opinions of Islamists like Abu Hamza, who wishes to impose Sharia in Great Britain. He declared, “Only the most ignorant and animal minded individuals would insist that prophet killer (Jews) and Jesus worshipers (Christians) deserve the same rights as us.”

As mentioned before, Islam is considered the din al-fitra, the religion that is “natural” to man.

It was Adam’s religion and would be everyone’s religion were they not converted as children to apostasy in their upbringing by Christians, Jews, Hindus, or others. Therefore, restoring everyone to Islam is the only path to true “equality.” – The Closing of the Muslim Mind

The Taqiyya: Lying to the Infidel

Remember that Muslims are required by their religion to lie to non-Muslims on any topic that is unflattering of Islam. To Muslims, non-Muslims are lower than a dog and a pig and deserve to have a “mountain fall on them.” Of course, Muslims can’t have other people knowing the reality of Islam, as the reality is Islam so damaging.
