Video Introduction: What SAP Said About Fiori is Commercially Successful, Inevitable and Broadly Used by SAP Customers
Text Introduction (Skip if You Watched the Video)
This statement may seem to come from IDG in their SAP coverage, but it was prompted by the information offered by SAP. IDG is another passive media entity that does what its funders tell it. IDG made the following comment, which we covered in the article Understanding Why Fiori Will Not Survive. Quote – By including a user experience based on SAP Fiori and SAP Screen Personas within SAP licensed software, SAP makes widely available a personalized, responsive, simple UX for its customers, – unquote said Henry Morris, senior VP, Worldwide Software and Services Research, IDC. You will learn about SAP’s accuracy on the widespread use of Fiori being inevitable.

Notice of Lack of Financial Bias: We have no financial ties to SAP or any other entity mentioned in this article.
- This is published by a research entity, not some lowbrow entity that is part of the SAP ecosystem.
- Second, no one paid for this article to be written, and it is not pretending to inform you while being rigged to sell you software or consulting services. Unlike nearly every other article you will find from Google on this topic, it has had no input from any company's marketing or sales department. As you are reading this article, consider how rare this is. The vast majority of information on the Internet on SAP is provided by SAP, which is filled with false claims and sleazy consulting companies and SAP consultants who will tell any lie for personal benefit. Furthermore, SAP pays off all IT analysts -- who have the same concern for accuracy as SAP. Not one of these entities will disclose their pro-SAP financial bias to their readers.
What Actually Happened with Fiori and Personas Along the Stated Dimensions?
First of all, SAP did not make Fiori widely available (Personas is irrelevant to this discussion as it was for all purposes discontinued). SAP could, of course, have done this. It could have offered Fiori for “free,” that is, to customers already paying 22%+ in support to SAP, but they decided to restrict Fiori to HANA.
How is that making something “widely available?”
Secondly, Fiori is neither broadly used (only a small fraction of SAP users use Fiori) nor is it inevitable. Fiori has had several years to acquire users, and it has not done so. It looks less like an inevitability than another in a long string of SAP’s attempts to modernize their UI (Personas being one that is already finished). None of the previous attempts stuck either, but each was heralded at the time as the future SAP UI.
This was a ‘pants on fire’ lie communicated through IDG to trick SAP customers and prospects.
Conclusion and Calculation
SAP receives a 0% accuracy rating on SAP, providing Fiori and Personas along the stated dimensions.
