How Medicine Takes Credit for the Immune System

Executive Summary

  • The medical establishment has a pattern of taking credit for the immune system.
  • The twin topics of vaccines and immunotherapy illustrate how medicine does this.

Introduction

The medical establishment takes credit for things it did not do and hides the negative things it did.

The ability of medicine to sweep its historical errors under the rug is legion. The most current example is how they completely sidestepped any responsibility for the opioid epidemic as if it was imposed upon the US by a plot from Putin rather than a combined effort of the pharma companies, insurance companies, medical journals, medical schools, FDA, and the medical establishment.

Another thing the medical establishment likes doing is taking credit for something it did not create, and in most cases, they dismiss or actively undermine the immune system.

The Curious Position of the Medical Establishment on the Immune System

I have used this video in several articles that show an MD stating that strengthening the immune system can lead to autoimmune disorders.

Immunomodulation Exists?

The MD entirely leaves out the concept of immunomodulation.

Does this MD seriously think that the primary difference between the immune system of an 18-year-old and an 80-year-old is that the 18-year-old’s immune system is indiscriminately attacking healthy cells? However, in the case of monoclonal antibodies — they ramp up the immune system rather than immunomodulating. Getting more sun will often improve the immune system — but does this lead to autoimmune disorders? No, it does not. Therefore, this MD’s understanding — or at least their explanation (which I assume is based upon their knowledge) appears relatively unsophisticated. Furthermore, this is not an MD having a private conversation with a patient but a video many people have seen.
